Sara moved from Pullman, WA to St. Joseph, Mo with her family when she was eight years old. She started playing drums 12 years ago, starting with formal lessons, and teaching herself along the way. Since then she has studied music at Missouri Western State University and wowed crowds with her performances. Check out her social media sites and you’ll see the kind of person she is and that she has a bright musical future.

Before Sara joined Money For Nothin’ she was in the Jeff Lux Band. This was a great starting point for the young musician, because it gave her the opportunity to see how great musicians interact, and it exposed her to the audience. With this she has been given many opportunities to collaborate with some of the greatest musical minds St. Joseph has to offer. AY Musik, The Hubcap Bandits, Eyelit, and Marcus Works and The Leading Average are just a few of those groups. “[The] truth is, I never see a specific goal for my music career. I just see myself playing and being able to live off that.” She said when asked about her career goals. As far as inspirations go, she always looked up to Lester Estelle Jr. both as a drummer and as a career musician. She said, “The dude has it all.”

Sara is one of the most talented, dynamic, and energetic people we know. She is excited about the upcoming opportunity to record some original music with Money For Nothin’, stating that she hopes to gain more experience in the studio as a recording artist. Most of her experience has been as a performance artist. This has been a good roll for her so far and has presented her with the most rewarding opportunities. For example, she had the chance to showcase with Eyelit at the 2014 South by Southwest Music Festival in March.

The sky is the limit as far as Sara’s music careers goes, and as a challenge to all others, try to keep up.
